Went to Newton Circle last night with WenXiu and XianHui to have supper. We took taxi all the way from my house to Orchard to pick Wenxiu up and then went on to Newton Circle since XianHui has about $60 worth of taxi voucher that will expire today. Haha... So fun to travel around in a taxi instead of the usual MRT. Anyway, the food was alright. Quite expensive also...

These are the Tiger Prawns! Cost about 10 bucks each. Didn't taste very good anyway...
My favourite! The stingray has a different taste from the one I had at Marche but it's nice anyway. I love the chilli!

This stuff has a weird name. "Chut Chut"... haha... You're supposed to suck the meat out from the shell. Didn't really like it and it was way too spicy lah. Had to buy 2 cups of sugarcane in the end man. =S
After supper, we went to Orchard Cineleisure for KBox. We sang till 3am in the morning. Wah... damn tired lah.

This is the first time I ordered alcoholic drinks at KBox. I ordered Vodka with Sprite. Didn't really like the taste. Haha...

WenXiu and I while waiting for taxi to send us home. :)
Reached home at around 4am. I'm so tired now lah. But it was fun and Xianhui, thanks for sharing your vouchers with me. Haha!
Ate Swensons with Theresa and Edward last Sunday. It's been quite some time since I last went to Swensons. I ordered the Caribbean meal thingy...

The soup was nice!

The drink was alright. It's soda mixed with strawberry syrup with a little pineapple taste in it. Weird combination...

I ate this chicken thingy. It was so nice! There's grilled bananas on top of the chicken and the bananas were delicious! The grilled sweet potatoes were tasty too. Haha...

Lastly, we ordered ice-cream. I had this ice-cream called Wham! Bam! Yam!. Haha... It was delicious too! I love dipping the longans into the yam ice cream. =)
Thanks to Edward for treating us to this delicious and sinful meal. Haha... I think I'll be overweight soon looking at the food I eat nowadays. Lol...
On a darker tone, I was reading this book written by Angeline Jolie on her trips to the less developed countries and I saw some shocking and depressing facts given in the book about the world's poverty.
It is stated that:
1) More than 20 million refugees exist today.
2) One-sixth of the world's population lives on less than 1 dollar a day.
3) 1.1 billion people lack access to safe drinking water.
4) One-third of the world has no electricity.
5) More than 100 million children are out of school.
6) One in six children in Africa dies before the age of five.
Oh my gosh. It's really depressing and heart-wrenching to know about all these facts. So many people are living in extreme poverty and what am I doing? Wasting money and pitying myself for not having enough money to satisfy my buying needs?! I'm so superficial and money-minded. I vow that one day when I have the ability, I'll definitely try to do my part to help the refugees in Africa. I don't think we can laze around in our comfort zone and do nothing after knowing how terrible the living conditions are in some places...
Happened to read this poem written by Mary Hathaway. Thought it was nice...
The curtainThe foundations of my life are in eternity.
But sometimes a barrier comes between eternity and now.
And I am lost, confused and often afraid.
But I'm so glad when, after a while,
I reach out my hand and touch eternity again.
My life steadies, things come into focus.
I know where I'm going.
And I realize that what seemed an impenetrable wall
was only a fragile curtain, yeilding easily to the touch
of an outstretched hand.
